AHA Goes Red For Women at Third Annual Wilmington Luncheon

The American Heart Association hosted its third annual Wilmington Go Red For Women Luncheon and Fashion Show, emceed by Lauren Wilson of 6ABC. The event, with this year’s theme of “Fall in Love with Your Heart,” is part of the Association’s Go Red For Women awareness campaign and included a heart-healthy meal, nutrition and fitness tips and a fashion show featuring the red dress, which has become an international symbol for women and cardiovascular disease. The Honorary Chair of the 2007 luncheon is Senator Margaret Rose Henry. Awards were presented to three local women for their contributions to the fight against cardiovascular disease in New Castle County. They are: Go Red Heart Beat Award to Dr. Gina Baffa, Chief Cardiologist, Nemours A. I. DuPont Hospital for Children; Heart of the Community Award to Carol Ammon, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Christiana Care Health System; and the Love Your Heart Award to Elizabeth Browning, CEO, LLuminari. Proceeds benefit Association research and education efforts in New Castle County. Local sponsors include AstraZeneca, Christiana Care Health System, the CSI Banking Group and Nemours A. I. DuPont Hospital for Children
